What Guests Are Saying
Springfield Campground offers stunning 270-degree views of Hartwell Lake and well-maintained facilities, making it a favorite for many campers. The clean restrooms and friendly staff enhance the overall experience, although some sites lack shade and certain amenities, like a door on the men's comfort station. While there have been issues with ants in some areas, the campground remains a popular choice for its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful scenery, attracting repeat visitors.

We WERE ON SITE 42 WHICH IS YHE HANDICAP SITE. THERE ARE SPOTS IN THE CEMENT SITE THAT NEED ATTENTION. SOMEONE COULD EASYILY FALL THE CRACKS ARE SO BAD. Also maybe think about putting an outside light on the back side of bathroom facing site 42, 43 and 44. We have been coming to that campground for maybe 55 years. That is home to us. thanks

For the third consecutive trip, we had to fight armies of ants. We treated our camper before we left home. We used cinnamon, 7 dust and a spray our exterminator recommended as safe when we arrived the first morning the bathroom ceiling was black with ants. We had placed all food items in ziplock bags but they were covered in ants also. We had to spend time every single day killing ants. We do not have that problem at other corp parks that we use.
Last year, we brought some home to our home, and spent over a year getting rid of them. We will not return to Springfield.
The staff is so friendly and we hate this situation, but all three trips were miserable.
All three trips, we used site 72 because we can safely pull our bass boat up there. Ants covered the boat and got in our truck that we use to pull the boat before we even had a chance to get it in the water. We had treated the boat and our vehicles just as we had treated the camper.
Springfield Site 72 was our favorite site until the ants were allowed to get out of control. That loop is peaceful and we really enjoyed the peacefulness. But fighting ants for the last three trips has just been awful.
