Beautiful, two-RV pull-through spot right on the water. We’d booked it for two nights but left in four hours because the site was inundated by yellow jackets to such an extent that my wife could not go outside even from just one RV to the next without having numbers of them crawling all over her.
Perhaps we’ll return to the park but definitely not that site. In the meantime, we would caution anyone who has a problem with these bees to stay away.

Nice sites. Wish campground was open year round. if not whole campground, would be great even if half campground was open year round.

Grass was uncut, nearly knee high in places. Ants everywhere and bees. It’s a state park, so we didn’t expect a 5* experience but we did expect the grass to be mowed and basic pest control. Additionally we were with a group of three campsites side by side just down from the dump station…and it smelled horribly like raw sewage especially in the middle site

We had reservations for Site 7, a beautiful shaded pull-through, lakeside for 5 days. After setting up our camper, we noticed the strong smell of urine. The person on the gate rode to the site on his golf cart & said he couldn’t smell anything. He said he didn’t have anything to clean the smell & offered no resolution to the problem. After 30 minutes my wife was getting sick from the smell, so we decided to find out if there were any other sites available. The lady on the gate gave us two other site possibilities, one in full sun with no view of the lake and another across the road from the lake, again in full sun with no shade. We felt we had no choice but to take that site. Ants invaded the camper on the second day & we never saw a Park Ranger until we were packing up on the last day. She said they could have called cleaning services if they would have known & cleaned Site 7. Good information a little too late. Never going back.

Everything was great except for: 1. The Core cut down a lot of shade trees beside our camp site and left a muddy mess. 2. The rocks on the shore line makes it impossible to swim and beach your boat.

We had a very enjoyable time at Springfield despite the hot weather. Lake water was very warm. Wish there were more dump containers spread throughout the campground.
