Nice campground overlooking the lake. Host was very friendly. The only con was all of our neighbors had large dogs that ran wild. They were never leashed and ran into our camp site and no one followed them or cleaned up after them either. We had to go inside several times until they were gone. Never seen a dog leashed so I guess there isn’t a rule against this.

Very quiet. Peaceful. Awakened by the Cardinals in the woods. The hosts were super friendly and helpful.
The restrooms/showers were immaculate. They would give Bucees a run for the money. You could imagine a porter ready to hand you a towel and a spray of cologne as you left the restrooms.
The boat ramp is a different story. First, there is a curb separating the lanes on the narrow ramp. Very difficult to line up with the ramp, as there is very little room to turn your truck and trailer onto the ramp. Get rid of the curb. Otherwise, a very nice campground.

Excellent location; prices have gone up this year. Almost $50/night for a site is high for a stay in a national park.

We have been going to Morganton Point for, literally, decades and always enjoy it so much. The restrooms were very well-kept, and, although the campground was literally full, it was quiet and peaceful. I noticed electric bikes this time after being told electric stuff was not allowed, so I hope the rules are loosening to allow electric golf carts as that would really help us older disabled folks to get around to enjoy the nature scenes more easily. Please consider it. Thanks.

The map of the park is incorrect on Recreation.gov compared to the actually park. I would not have booked the site 21 if I had known it was next to 2 host sites, 1 manager site, an office and a dump station. The activity back and forth by the manager and hosts made my camping experience the worst ever.

Take U.S. Highway 515 north from Blue Ridge for 4 miles to Georgia Highway 60. Turn right (southwest) and continue 3 miles to the town of Morganton. In Morganton, turn right on County Road 616 (Lake Drive) and proceed for 1 mile. To enter the campground, take the first left after the Morganton Point entrance sign.
Morganton Point is accessible via U.S. Highway 515, which connects to Georgia Highway 60 in Morganton. The campground is approximately 4 miles from U.S. Highway 515.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
