We had a great time camping for two nights at Morganton Point. It's a small campground but nicely spread out to give plenty of privacy, though sites are often in clusters. We were tent camping at sites 31 and 32 and they were right next to each other which worked well for us. Sites has water spigot and power and are marked as an RV site but I cannot even imagine how one would fit a camper. Walking around, several sites had campers but sites are not very level or wide for a long one. Thankfully we were in tents this time.
Easy access to the lake, so come prepared. Very limited access to hiking trails at short walking/driving distance which was a major drawback for the location.
Restrooms, with hot showers, are nicely maintained and plenty in number for small campground.

The park staff works hard to keep everything clean and neat. If I had a complaint it would be the how deep the fire pits are which is probably because of the drought. It would be nice if the Forest Service could level the sites.

Morganton point campground is our favorite campground! Being right there on the lake is wonderful. The sites are very clean and the bathroom facilities are also very clean. We have stayed there five times and have loved every campsite we have been at. The staff of the campground are very helpful and professional. We love this campground!

We enjoyed our stay here. It’s a nice area just outside of Blue Ridge handy to almost everything in the area. We will definitely be back being from southern Georgia. The change of temperature was well received. The lake is beautiful. The staff working there were pleasant.

Take U.S. Highway 515 north from Blue Ridge for 4 miles to Georgia Highway 60. Turn right (southwest) and continue 3 miles to the town of Morganton. In Morganton, turn right on County Road 616 (Lake Drive) and proceed for 1 mile. To enter the campground, take the first left after the Morganton Point entrance sign.
Morganton Point is accessible via U.S. Highway 515, which connects to Georgia Highway 60 in Morganton. The campground is approximately 4 miles from U.S. Highway 515.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
