Morganton Point campground is highly praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a wonderful place for camping by the lake. Many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and easy access to recreation, including kayaking and swimming. However, some concerns were noted about noise from nearby sites, uneven camping spots, and deep fire pits, which could use improvement for a better experience.

If there were quiet hours, they were not enforced. The next camp site over from us was very roudy both nights until about 2 am, preventing us from getting sleep. Otherwise, a very nice campground, the bath house was very nice and had hot water.

Enjoy the campground and proximity to water, beach and surrounding mountains. Bathrooms were kept clean as well as campsites.
A concern is the number of back in and pull through camper/rv sites that are uneven and challenging to safely level camper trailers, etc.
Another concern is the access trail from the backside of the main bathroom facility. The trail is full of exposed tree roots and slippery clay/dirt when wet. Also the access trail is not lighted making it even more dangerous at night.
Grading, gravel and lighting are needed.

Our 4 day stay was really good. The camp site #4 was gravel and fairly level and was easy setup and was mostly shady. The staff was good and shower and restrooms was the cleanest I’ve seen in a while.

Camp ground is lovely, in a beautiful area. The bath house was pristine clean. Which is always important.

The site was not level at all. It was close to the restroom, which was the only plus for the site. The fire ring was 18 - 24 inches tall which meant you had to sit on top of the picnic table to enjoy the fire. Half that height would have been much better.

Not only is this spot naturally beautiful, the camp hosts do an excellent job of maintaining the campsites and facilities. Watch out for those squirrels, though! They WILL steal your food. 🐿️😅
