This spot is absolutely perfect and absolutely beautiful. I’ve been wanting to get a spot on the lake and this was perfect. I didn’t catch any fish and certainly tried hard but as gorgeous as it was, it didn’t really matter. Ha. Highly highly recommend. The facility was wonderful too. Bathrooms were very clean. Very nice.

The campground was peaceful, the sites and grounds were well maintained, and the facilities were clean. Morganton Point is a great location for a lot of different hiking trails in the area. Check in was annoying because Morganton Point is actually run by a private company, so we had to scan a QR code and re-enter all the info we had already entered when making our reservation. The young lady helping me told me a couple things to enter incorrectly so I could not go onto the next screen, but then told me the right thing. They need to come up with a quicker way of checking in campers so we don't have to re-enter everything we already did when making the reservation. The water in the showers only stays on for 25 seconds, so you have to keep re-starting it. I get the reason for having auto cutoff, but it needs to be longer than 25 seconds. Also, you can't adjust the water temperature. It was fine for us, but could be too hot for younger children. We would stay here again if we're in the area; it's peaceful, clean , and a great location to lots of hiking, wineries, Blue Ridge. We stayed at site #4 which had a short trail to the lake. It was patrially shady in the afternoon, level, and quiet even though it's close to the road. We had good cell service at our site, but it wasn't as good further into the campground. We like NOT having cell service when we camp, but some can't live without it. Our carrier is Verizon in case this matters to you.
