We have camped at Morganton Point for decades and love it when we can get one of our preferred sites. One of the easy things to do that would really help those of us older and/or disabled would be to allow golf carts there for going to and the bathhouse, swim area. etc. Please consider this. Paved camping sites and some lights would be wonderful, too!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Morganton Point!! The hosts were all so welcoming and helpful. We stayed in tent site A and it was perfect! Right near the parking lot so we didn’t have to trek our things far. It is also right on the water where the sunrises are gorgeous! We’ve stayed at many Forest service campgrounds and this one was very impressive. The bathrooms were clean, warm, and not crowded. We can’t wait to come back. It’s the perfect base camp to explore the area!

We spent six nights on site 9. It is considered a group site and is a little more expensive than some of the other sites. It is a pull through site and has great access to the lake. The site was a bit tricky to get into with our 30 ft travel trailer. It was also a little bit of work to get it level but we did manage. We noticed that there were several sites that could be a bit of a challenge due to either backing up into them or down into them. It appears that once you are on the site it's level it's just getting into it that could be the problem. This particular site had electric and water available and there is a dump station within the park for you to use. The park has two bath houses, and it appears the newer one is closest to this site. This newer bath house was very clean and spacious. All of the staff that we interacted with were helpful and friendly. They offered ice and firewood for purchase. The campground is about 15 minutes from the town of Blue Ridge. They did not offer a laundry facility here but there was a nice laundromat in town.

We camped at Campsite #14 which is at a beautiful location. It borders the lake and is a nice distance from the showerhouse. The facilities are well kept and the staff are nice. The campsites are spacious with a picnic table, tent pad, and a nice fire ring. We really enjoyed are stay here!

Hands down this is the best campground we’ve ever visited. We are a family of 4 including 2 young children. We tent camped for 3 nights at campsite 13. The sites are well spread out and close proximity to the water. The bathrooms were in excellent conditions. The camp hosts were extremely accommodating and even came straight to our site moments after we got there with cute coloring books and a scavenger hunt for the kiddos. It was so peaceful and we will 100% be back. There is a dollar general 3 minutes away for essentials and many restaurants within a short drive if that’s what you’re after.
I do wish there was a small playground but I appreciate that my littles were forced to use their imagination and be creative with their surroundings.

Camped solo at Morganton Point this weekend. It was quiet, which was perfect for me. Did some hiking nearby—trails were solid. Good spot if you just want to chill and get outside. Been here before with my daughter and will definitely go back.

Campers are able to utilize the day use area for free, but if you have a vehicle parked in the day use parking lot then you have to pay the day use fee. You can be dropped off at the day use area and park at your campsite if you like. |
