Make sure you print your camping permit!! Make sure you read all the available information on the website and call if you have any questions. It's important you come to the island prepared. I had no issues planning anything and the staff was super helpful.

This was such a great all around NPS experience. Stayed at Stafford- great campsite, not crowded at all but also had running water, a food locker, electricity, and bathrooms. Island is beautiful and feels very untouched. Definitely recommend bringing your bike (fat/sand tires would be ideal) to maximize everything you can see in a couple of day. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Check in for the ferry was a little clunky but still managed to get our pass with plenty of time before boarding. The island was a blast and the hike to YP was great. It would be outstanding if a picnic table or 2 were staged out there, otherwise a great trip.

We had a great experience and loved every minute of our time on the island. The rangers at Sea Camp were great and informative, the beach program was inclusive (although we didn't catch anything), and the site was perfect for our size of group.

The greatest part of camping at Cumberland Island is that there’s so much to do and see! Regardless of where you’re camping, bring a bike! Just find a good location to lock it to when you’re not using it.

Camping on Cumberland Island is always an enchanting experience. If you are looking for an excellent wilderness experience with very limited encounters with other humans, Cumberland can't be beat. The park limits backpacking campers to just 4 groups at each campsite, and typically one or two of those "groups" doesn't show up, so you've got a lot of space to yourself. The flora and fauna are awesome and you will likely see horses, armadillos, raccoons, and possibly snakes, pigs, and even an occasional alligator! The live oaks are majestic and are complimented by the spiky saw palmetto. The most beautiful campground is Brick Hill Bluff -- but it's a long walk!

We LOVE Cumberland Island! The tranquility, history, diversity and hospitality cannot be beat. We try to visit every year if we can get reservations. Highly recommend!
