I Can't possibly say enough positive things about this beautiful mountain campground, the facilities, and the way the place is maintained. I have stayed here numerous times and have never been even slightly disappointed in the experience. Please give the maintenance staff six stars for their great work and hospitality.

I grow more disappointed every year with the conditions at this park. We have been camping here for almost 30 years. When we first started coming the lake was deep and clean, now it's silted in and muddy. The vegetation around much of the upper end was kept cut back so that many people could have access at the same time, now it's so grown up you have to try to find a little hole in the bushes just to get to the lake to fish or see. The roads have potholes and are in poor condition, this is bad enough for cars but when my kids were young we always brought our bicycles. I can see a little kid going over the handle bars from hitting some of the potholes that have not been taken care.
I realize it takes money to care of these things but when you have a treasure like Winfield Scott it's worth a little of the tons of money we spend every to take care of it.
The camp hosts as always were friendly and the rest rooms and camp sites were in decent shape. I still love camping here and so does my family, and extended family.
If your coming here for the first time keep in mind the area has been scoured for fire wood so do yourself a favor and bring it with you.
