I camped at this location for several days in the North Loop and overall had a good experience. The campsites in both North and South loops are spread out so you generally aren't on top of another camper. The campsites are level and squared off with rail ties; I think this helped keep water away during the rains we had during my stay. The area is quiet at night, except for occasional sounds from the local critters (which actually is a bonus!).
The closest showers to the North Loop are at the beach house. Unfortunately, both times I used the showers, the drain area was clotted with crud -- hair, paper, etc. I realize this is at least partly the responsibility of slovenly users who left their mess behind, but it also may indicate maintenance needs to be a bit more frequent. The shower area itself is nice and the water gets hot quickly. The nearest toilets in the campground were fine, though 1 of the 3 is out of commission. Another could use a hook on the inside of the door.
My site had water, though I never understood how the inflatable hose on the ground behind and down the hill from the campsite was supposed to be used. Since accessing the water from the site seemed to require going to the nearest spigot to connect the hose and start the water, it would be just as easy/far to go directly to the spigot for water and forget the hose entirely.
I recommend this location as a place to camp when in the area.

A group of us used the campground as a base of operations for a series of day hikes in the Smokey Mountains. The campsites are well maintained and the restroom and shower facilities were very clean. The camp host for the South Loop was absolutely wonderful. She was friendly, extremely helpful, and added an extra measure of fun without being a bit intrusive. I would not hesitate to return to this facility on a future trip to the area.

The campground hosts were great (Stephanie and Jeff). They were all over the place keeping things in good order and they checked on us daily. (My usual experience with hosts is never even seeing them.)

Loved our experience at this campground. The site we had was very private and well kept. The manager was very friendly and attentive - she made sure we were settled in and gave us a packet of info about the area. Bathrooms and facilities were clean. All around, a wonderful camping experience. Will return.
