Lake Winfield Scott Recreation Area offers a peaceful and scenic camping experience with well-spaced, clean sites and beautiful access to a lake and hiking trails. Campers appreciate the friendly hosts and the tranquil atmosphere, ideal for families and nature lovers. We got to the pavilion and the trash cans were full and had maggots!!! We took the trash off and had to bring back our pressure washer because there was moss on the steps (very slippery) we asked at the pay station for trash bags and her (Stephanie) reply was she didn't have any!! Luckly we brought some back with us. She was rude to us from the beginning!! NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE!!

The tent pads are very unlevel and are fairly small for today's style of family tents . There was also no communication on the website that you were not allowed to bring your own fire wood unless it was from within 50 miles of the camp site. This was the first and last time I will get the group site unless it gets a overhaul and the tent pads are leveled and made bigger

This was our 5th time in 3 years staying at the cabin at Lake Winfield Scott and they have all been great. We wish it was open during the winter months and we’d come more. We are grateful to Stephanie and her husband for taking care of the park. We are grateful for the community with homes there and the town of Suchess. Everyone makes it a great place to be and we can’t wait to get back.

Stephanie and her husband are always so helpful and we truly appreciate them and FindOutdoors for the work they do. This was our 5th stay at the cabin at Lake Winfield Scott and I’m not sure how many times we have hiked to Anna Ruby Falls but it never gets old.
It’s our hope that soon the cabin at Lake Winfield Scott may be available year round. If it were we would certainly come more often. Some wish it had heat but we love the wood stove. Now if they want us mid summer then at least window unit A/C is a must. Overall our only complaint really is the gravel driveway… forget it if you don’t have 4x4. We do have it so no big deal for us.
Find Outdoors we sure hope to hear that the cabin will soon be open year round but until then we will certainly plan to book as early as we can in the spring hoping for a cold enough weekend for the wood stove.

LWS is a fabulous campground! We went back to back weekends and stayed 1 night on the North Loop (the campsite was beautiful and wooded) and then 3 nights on the South Loop (the campsite was large, wooded and right next to the creek). Even with rain both weekends it was a great experience! This was my first time camping and couldn’t have asked for a better campground to go to! The managers are phenomenal, restrooms spotless and again just a great experience! We will definitely be back!!!

Campsite was blown off of all leaves before we arrived. Very nice. Bathrooms were very clean. Park manager who came around and checked us in was as nice and friendly as could be. We had an excellent time once again. This is our 15th time to this site.
