It’s our favorite local camping destination. Even if you are not camping, be sure to visit the day access area.

We were only supposed to be here for 2 nights, but cancelled the rest of our trip and stayed here another 5 nights! This park is beautiful and wooded, with access to the lake from most sites. Next time we will bring kayaks along with our bikes! Weekends here can be crowded during the warmer months, but during the week was sparse and super quiet! We will definitely be back very soon.

As always the stay was great. We have stayed at the park a few times and always a great time. The only thing is the bathrooms Need to be updated and more showers in larger parks

Great sites, large and well maintained. Nice lake and beautiful sunsets. Close to towns with grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants. Lot to do in the area.

Love this COE campground. Large sites, easy access. Lot of sites directly on the lake.

The whole time we were there we were racially harassed. Very horrible experience I would like a refund these people made us feel very uncomfortable.

Our favorite campground for sure! We loved site 1 because it was secluded and so quiet. The kids loved the water and all of our fun toys we brought. We also loved how the Camp site was also on a little loop so the kids were able to ride their bikes.

We always enjoy our time at Shaefer Heard campground. The hosts are great and the campground is clean. The bathrooms are old and dated but clean. My one complaint is after they clean the bathrooms you can’t go in there for a while because of the clorox smell. Too strong.
