Easy check in. nice campsite on the water. Clean shower house and playground nearby for grandkids. We had a great time even though it did rain.

We stayed there twice. Highly recommend reserving the higher number sites. Especially if you want internet.

We were in site 83 and then moved to 17 for a few days. Site 93 has a much better view. Some of the communities south of Atlanta along i85 are great to visit. Lots of history.

Nice campground and site. Lengths of site and downhill slope can be challenging to back into. Carefully choose sites online. Dump station needs threaded hose end for cleanout.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The campsites are well-spaced and mostly private. The people at the check in were so friendly and helpful. We really appreciated the quiet and peaceful atmosphere- even though the park was nearly full, people were not loud and noisy. The birds were beautiful and it was a very enjoyable weekend.

We stayed at site 102, not great for fishing from bank but private and a great place for kids to play in water.

We were looking for a place to stay the night and West Point, GA was the half way point. When I found R. Shaeffer Heard I thought it might be too far if the road but was pleasantly surprised to see that it was not. When we arrived the nature was abundant and the lake was beautiful. We enjoyed it so much we made plans to stay on our return. The sites are large and very private. We loved every minute and plan to return soon.
