The new attendants in the check in office was great. Really a breath of fresh air compared to the ones the last few years. They should be there to help not make it more difficult!! Good job!!

The campground itself is great. A little bit of a slope backing in, but the site itself was level and paved. Well maintained, with nice separation and reasonable privacy between sites.
My only complaint is the bathhouse. They are dated, and the shower floor was partially sloped the wrong way, resulting in 1/2 inch of standing water next to the bench. Also, they need a small shelf to store your shampoo and soap.

Difficult for a back in and landing area unlevel. Care getting to landing from camper it is an ankle twister just waiting to happen.

My wife and I camp at R Shaefer Heard frequently. In addition to it being only an hour away, we love the friendly attendants and well kept camping sites. Most sites offer access to water while others are more secluded. They truly offer something for everyone.

Staff was awesome. grounds were clean and prepped for the next campers. Loved the solid nearly flat camping slots. Only real downside was the very old and in dire need of refresh of the bathrooms. We will be back!

Plenty of spacious campsites. Swimming, bike trails, playground. Overall a good place to stay and fish.

Easy access, beautiful view. Would have loved sewer at site, but the double dump station had plenty of room and easy access.

A beautiful park set in the woods. Although the lake water level was low, because work is going to be accomplished on the dam, the campground was still beautiful. I would suggest that the few large potholes in the campground road, should be taken care of since they have a tendency to jar ones fillings loose if they are inadvertently driven over, which is practically unavoidable based on their location. Water and power hookups were clean and operable.

The last several times the lake has been very low. I believe they are making repairs to the dam. It would be nice to let people know that this would happen when they made a reservation
