Gate attendants very nice and helpful. Had trouble with the washer, it locked when the breaker tripped. Service tech there in a short time and stayed until we finished washing. All in all a very nice stay.

This campground is clean and has friendly and helpful staff. Love the seclusion and 50 amp availability on long sites.

The last several times the lake has been very low. I believe they are making repairs to the dam. It would be nice to let people know that this would happen when they made a reservation

A beautiful park set in the woods. Although the lake water level was low, because work is going to be accomplished on the dam, the campground was still beautiful. I would suggest that the few large potholes in the campground road, should be taken care of since they have a tendency to jar ones fillings loose if they are inadvertently driven over, which is practically unavoidable based on their location. Water and power hookups were clean and operable.

Plenty of spacious campsites. Swimming, bike trails, playground. Overall a good place to stay and fish.

Staff was awesome. grounds were clean and prepped for the next campers. Loved the solid nearly flat camping slots. Only real downside was the very old and in dire need of refresh of the bathrooms. We will be back!

My wife and I camp at R Shaefer Heard frequently. In addition to it being only an hour away, we love the friendly attendants and well kept camping sites. Most sites offer access to water while others are more secluded. They truly offer something for everyone.
