We were in site #71 which is right on the water (most sites are) and we had this lovely deck with a picnic table and a lower area with a fire ring. The power is 30amp, but there are some sites with 50amp service. That being said, I have a Class A and on that 30amps, I could run both air conditioners plus the microwave all at once! Not sure why, but did it accidentally on day one and was surprised. I only popped the breaker when I added a hot plate... lol. No sewer, but I think the whole park is that way. Nice dump stations though. The bathrooms are far away and not so great. I'd advise to count those out. I did get an invasion of tiny ants. We ran to Walmart and bought Terro ant bait and a jug of Home Defense and I sprayed anything touching the ground. They went away in a day and didn't bother us again for a week.

Now to the Internet service. For us, it was amazing. We have a 5g T-Mobile Home Internet modem. Our speeds were 850 down and 150 up. I'm a very technical person (TV engineer and Director for 40 years) and anything technical interests me. So I'm always sensitive to things like the internet. This service has been great for the past three years.

Go visit the West Point Dam and power station in the park system. Check out the visitor's center too. Go visit the town of West Point as it's a real slice of rural Georgia and the town is split across the state line of Alabama. When you are exploring, keep your eye on the time change. There is a drive-through wild animal park called: Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain. You can feed all kinds of animals from your car or their bus. FDR's "Little White House" has the actual home closed along with his pool. Call before you drive all the way over there. We learned the hard way. Enjoy the solitude.

A very relaxing stay. We camped on site 83, which gave us great views and access to the lake. The site was easy to back into, and the connections all worked great.

We will be back again.

Sites are a nice size and the Lakeview is very nice.

fix the bathrooms ,update them from the 70s ..... one bathroom by site 44 the toilet stays plugged almost every trip and i been going there for several years and it still has the same problem on this last trip , then the bathhouse at site 50 the toilet is broken loose from the floor , was reported for days before we arrived and when flushed , floods the floor so its not very safe considering our times these days. then they just cut the water off and not tell anyone , so our last trip was not very great , we go back aug 2nd and im betting the toilet in the bathouse still have not been repaired when it was reported again while we were there. bathrooms are important to be clean and safe , then i watched your cleaning crew sleeping in the truck over a hour last trip and once again, this is not new because we have seen and reported it before also over the years , but no time for repairs.. campground is great , but upkeep is not being done , grass is high , dead tree limbs hanging over multi thousand dollar rvs , some work needs to be done and updated , it has not changed in over 10 years.

Shafer Heard is awesome, very safe place to vacation and relax. Everyone (staff) if friendly, they ride around and check but never harass anyone. Very clean, areas. 5 Star!!

The people are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful where needed.

This site has issues with ants. We did all the preventative stuff, but they still found their way into our camper. Other than that is was a GREAT experience!!!

The gate staff is very friendly and helpful. First time at this particular site, 86. Close to shore, lots of room and level. Using a tv antenna we were able to watch 4 channels. Also had phone service. The view of the lake and sunset was wonderful. Has a nice sandy beach with a gentle walk out which worked really good for us as seniors. Great lake and campground.

Excellent place to camp. Site level and good site to see sunset.

The site was on the water front, I was just looking for a spot where I stayed and wished I had full hookups.
