Wonderful facility with good spacing between sites and beautiful views! Being close to a small city with all infrastructure is a great bonus!! We stop here a couple times a year and always love it!!

This is a wonderful campground and we will return. It does appear to be suffering from budget cuts as the grounds were in need of tending and, other than the folks working the check in booth, we saw no staff anywhere over the weekend. There were apparently camp hosts present also, but saw none of them either. Nonetheless, it was very pleasant and quiet. Utilities worked well and cell signals (Verizon and T-Mobile) were strong.

Campsite-set up 2 full size tents comfortably, 3 fold chairs, 1 tree hammock. Our site, 48, had electric and water. The water had a old fashioned pump style faucet. I had to muscle it to get the handle to return to the off position. Best part of the entire campsite: bugfree. Ant free. Mosquito free. Checkin was simple. Stop at the entry. Give them your info and tag number. Get your pass. Display it inside the vehicle while in the campground. We hung ours from the rear view mirror. Then turn it in when your stay ends. Easy peasy. Staff was friendly. For our site, the distance from the spot to the bathroom was a short walk. I wish there had been a closer bathroom for the lakeside spots. When you shower be warned, when another guest flushes the toilet get out of the stream 😆 you about to be HOT for a few seconds. The lake was beautiful. When the sun went down the campground got quiet. It is a great hidden gem! You have to purchase firewood and ice. There is a gas station nearby where you can purchase both. Walmart is close by as well. Bonus: we got to see deer in the campground! Overall, for tent camping it was a great place!

Great campground with many good lakefront sites. We were on site 59 (not lakefront / handicap site) only because it was the only one available at the time. Not perfectly level, but not too bad with help of levelers. Enjoyed watching the deer. Sadly previous campers left lots of cigarette butts. Nasty. (Maybe why they're handicapped?) Bathrooms very clean (right across from our site). I swear lady was there cleaning them every time I went! I told her so and thanked her. :) Hosts at gate helpful and friendly too.

Having the boat ramp closed right next to campgrounds was a BIG pain, should have made arrangements for us

Awesome Park and very nice employees. Location is perfect and Woodstock is a nice little town that is close enough to Atlanta yet seems like a totally different world, in a good way. Lake Altoona is a pretty lake.

The front office is wonder as usual. This is the second visit that I have stayed and the yards have not been mowed. Grass is up to your knees at the campsite. Fallen trees everywhere not cut up and removed. It's such shame the way the campground is being maintained lately. It is such a nice place on the lake but looking really bad as far as the sites.
