A lot of people were walking their dogs on the beach, one of the sons of the gatekeeper was very bossy on the playground, and he also hit my great granddaughter who is eight years old.
Site was good.

Great COE campground! Sites are long and well spaced. Some more level than others, but our site, #36, only needed a slight adjustment. Water and electric at the site with a dump station by the entrance.

A beautiful campground, very well maintained and managed. The Host was extremely welcoming and helpful. We camped on site 27 in our Class C. Everything with our stay was exceptional.

We have been to Corps of Engineers campgrounds a few time and while they ar OK Georgia State Campgrounds seem to maintained and "hosted" at a higher level. Generally speaking the roads and campsites are not maintained as well or "cleaned up" between campers.
Also, the restroom and shower facilities may be "clean" but they look old and gritty (like they could use a good pressure washing or such!
Also, amenities like an ice machine near check in station or convenient fire wood sales are not available. A WiFi repeater network would be a plus as well! Yes, these campsites are very reasonably priced but should, at least, be on par with Ga. State Campground upkeep and amenities.

This campground is, without a doubt, my favorite! It has fantastic facilities, the surrounding nature is absolutely beautiful, and the bathrooms are always spotless. The staff at the entrance and those who check the campground are incredibly kind, polite, and genuinely take great care of the place. It really makes every visit a wonderful experience!
