Great campsite to sleep close to the summit if you're planning on seeing the sunrise. Quite windy when we were there, but easy to access, has water and restroom. 10/10

Great campground with everything needed to have a great time. The filtered water and sink were nice to have. The campgrounds are packed together a little tightly, but for small parties, it's not a problem. Recommend!

Only stayed in Hosmer Groove one night. It was pretty good overall. The campground wasn't flat it was sloped downhill, and the bathrooms a bit on the ripe side, but overall a good stay close within the park where hiking wasn't needed to reach.

Look for the yellow flowers if you're looking to spot a tropical bird. They go for the nectar of the little yellow flowers ;)

We were car-camping (sleeping in a rented van) and were very lucky to get a flat parking spot since many are on a slope and it would have been difficult. The facilities are OK... we were glad that there was plentiful water. The toilets are latrines, not with water. And the other campers were all very pleasant, no rowdy parties or anything like that. But.... for some crazy reason the ranger comes to empty the recycling at 4 in the morning, making a lot of noise. This should not be allowed. We had set our alarm for 5:45 to get up to the summit to see the sunrise. But 4 AM maintenance noise was really a bummer.

We spent one night at Hosmer and it was amazing! We were concerned that we were getting there after the park "closed" at 4:30, but when we arrived around 5:30, there was still a ranger at the drive-up welcome booth to check us in - not sure how late they still there. The campground was easy to find and well marked. We appreciated the picnic table, bathroom, potable water, and short "alien forest" hike. When we woke up at 4:30 to drive to the summit at sunrise, we saw a shooting star (amongst a million other beautiful stars)! Thanks NPS!!

The campground is great! We watched the sunset at the summit and the next day we watched the sunrise while the ranger was "singing" a song to the sun in Hawaiian, really special moment! Then, we went hiking into the crater (around 18 miles), hard trail but worth it!

This location is excellent and quite - no visitors at night at all. However there were only lawns, no gravel tent pads at all so be aware.

Can use Roof Top tent, but there is really only one leveled parking spot. Keep in mind,
