Rainbow Point offers a pleasant camping experience with good lake access and a forest feel, enhanced by ample tree cover. Made a reservation for Thursday night for a weekend event. The rest of the weekend for the site was not reservable as it was marked FF for first come first serve. No problem since I would already be in the spot I would be first. However, without notification the spot was opened for reservations and someone else reserved it. I called to try to straighten it out and the lady was clueless and told me I could ‘“just find another spot”. Obviously she has not been out or she would know that there are no other spots. On top of that a $23 reservation was going to cost $10 to cancel for a site that was useless at that point. And left me scrambling last minute trying to find a camping spot for an event that involved registration fees and airline tickets.

Our campsite was large and clean, and access to the lake was easy via a small trail next to the restroom. The campground is centrally located close to Tamarack Resort and the lake, and it is easy to get to services in Donnelly. The campground is small and generally quiet, with little road traffic since the boat ramp is separate from the campground. The host was helpful and kept everything clean.

We arrived a day early and were able to secure the same site for 2 nights. The host was very nice. The campground clean and quiet. Beautiful area and lots of room between sites. Would highly recommend this campground and will definitely camp here again if we are in the area.
