One of our favorite placed. So lush and green. The reservoir is full this time of year and there are no motorized boats on the water so swimming and paddling is great. We love the rope swings too.

We loved camping here! We are a party of 8, and TBH, this site was maybe a bit too large for us. But we went with it! We felt like we have privacy, we had vault toilets nearby, it was walking distance to the lake, and had shade across the site throughout the day. There were several picnic tables at our particular spot, which made it really easy to "live" here for the week. There were also 2 metal fire pits and one raised grated grill. We only used one firepit, but if there were a lot of people camping here, you could have multiple fires going. We didn't really do any hiking, but instead spent our day paddleboarding on the reservoir. There isn't a ton of "beach" or chill area around where we were, so did mostly stay in the water or at our site. Although we didn't experience a lot of mosquitos, there were quite a few flies, so consider that when planning. Make sure to plan to bring enough supplies for your entire stay, as the nearest town in not close, and the roads getting to the site are both dirt/gravel and not the best to drive on.

Very very rough road for 12 miles in washboard horrible. Once past that was very pleasant.

We have camped here 3 years straight. It's a beautiful, forested area. It's not the easiest location to get to--one direction is wash-board roads, the other is windy and narrow. It keeps the less serious campers away.
It's a serene hide away with lots of trails to hike, ride, and a beautiful lake filled with fish to catch (thanks to fish and game for stocking the lake!). There's no cell service, no electricity, but there is a fresh spring water pump.
We had no mosquitos but quite a few gnats. The smoke from the fire helped.

Campground was lush and beautiful and this site was large and pretty set back. The hosts, Linda and Charles, were friendly and very helpful. Bathrooms were clean and didn’t stink. The road getting to the campground was washboard, so very bumpy and made the drive slow. May not be ideal for some trailers. Paddle boarding and kayaking was amazing on Sagehen Reservoir. It’s breathtakingly beautiful!
