Very relaxing day and the wind was blowing just enough that you could hear it. The campground was almost full but no problems and a quiet night.

We enjoyed Grayback campground. Like most national forest campgrounds it sits in the woods. Heard the traffic from the highway. We never saw the host which would have been nice. It is close to Idaho city which is a fun old Western town. We stopped by the visitors center (tapped into their wifi), did a self walking tour, went to shops and the museum. Cooled off in the creek. They make a great Bloody Mary at the Gold Mine Saloon.

We so love this campsite so close to Moores creek & the walking trials are just perfect. We love seeing the young families enjoying this site biking in the evening and everyone walking the pups around the loop and friendly ;) We missed out doing the The Springs Hot Springs due to well you know - but we have two other trips booked for July & Labor Day so hopefully we'll be able to pop u the road a mile to enjoy the Hot Springs & Grayback's lovely peaceful campsite again!! Its so great to have such a beautiful campsite so close to Boise!!

Great little loop of individual non-electric paved campsites. Far enough from the highway, up a small hill, that you don't hear or see anything. Well maintained grounds and facilities. Awesome base of operations for a trip to Idaho City or Lucky Peak for some boating. I recommend this location. No cell coverage in the area, plan ahead.

Great campground. But bring some water with you. There are water spigots in the campground, but when we were there the water coming out had a very distinct orange tint to it. We asked a forest service ranger about it and she said they test the water and it is "safe" to drink. But it looked gross. We hadn't brought any spare water with us (counting on the water in the campground to be usable), we we drove a couple miles up the highway to the Forest Service Ranger Station where there is a water spigot out front. We filled up our water jugs there with good water.
