What Guests Are Saying

Grayback Campground offers a stunning location with beautiful views, clean facilities, and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for campers and hikers. Many visitors appreciate the spacious sites, proximity to Idaho City, and well-maintained restrooms. However, some concerns were raised about the water quality and the lack of camp hosts, and tent accommodations could be improved.

Such a perfect location. I wanted to get married in the mountains. I had a scene in my head that I wanted.
We drove all up Bogus Basin road, up Highway 55, and up Highway 21 not finding anything. Feeling defeated and heading back towards the city we saw the road that we ultimately missed on the way up and decided we can try one more- so we turned onto it and started driving up.
It was so beautiful and then we saw a vast parking area and it peaked our interest.
Turning in and jumping out of the truck, the sun rays peeking through the pine trees made all of my stress and worry dissipate.
I knew it the second I got out that this was it.
I took a deep breath, looked at my fiancé and told him I loved it.
Afterwards I would find out that I know 3 couples that got married there too and my brother plans to get married there next summer.
A perfect location. Truly.

Had a very nice spot overlooking Mores Creek. Restrooms were clean and convenient. Someone cleared pinecones which was helpful. The drive up from Boise was beautiful and Idaho City is a funky fun spot just up the road with a great grocery store.

Beautiful Campground with lots of red pine trees! Restrooms are very clean. We will definitely go back next season! Price is very reasonable for seniors. The only downfall we encountered was the water pump at the campground pumped yellow looking water so we did not use it. It stated on the website it was tested monthly so not sure why it looked so bad.

We loved staying at Grayback. There were so many places you could put up a tent. We were at the group site which comfortably fit all 25 of us.

As always we had a great time. The campground and it's amenities are clean. Close to Idaho City to take a visit in the shops and walk the town.

Toilet paper in short supply. Never saw a Camp Host in 4 days and what happened to the hand sanitizer?
