What Guests Are Saying
Buttermilk Campground receives numerous positive reviews for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and friendly camp hosts. Reviewers appreciate the spacious campsites, recent upgrades, and the peaceful environment, especially after Labor Day. However, some concerns were raised about the condition of the access road and occasional noise from nearby boat traffic, as well as specific issues with odors and worn picnic tables at certain sites. Overall, many guests express a desire to return and recommend the campground.

Other than the host being a jerk about a little early checkin, it was great. So close to world class fishing, awesome kayaking location, close to Yellowstone and the price is right.

Spacious campsites close to a lake. No hookups but there are places to fill up water. I thought it was a great campground. Beautiful area semi close to yellowstone. Would go back

We rented the group site for our 2 families - a beautiful, secluded setting, and very reasonably priced, especially on weekdays. The group site has its own bathrooms (amazingly clean vault toilets), and the onsite water hydrants were very convenient. The hosts were friendly but unobtrusive - they stopped in and warned us that bears had visited every campsite within the last week. As recommended, we stowed our stuff inside the provided bear boxes, and saw and heard no bears at all. We did see a cow moose several times, and woke at 3am to the thrilling sound of an elk barking nearby. There are plenty of things to do in the area. It was a short hike to the reservoir. We did a little evening trip to the spectacular Mesa Falls, and a day trip exploring Yellowstone - the west entrance is only about 35 minutes away. We came away with lots of good memories, glad we chose this place.

Dusty roads in the campground because there is no sign to what loop is A loop or B loop C loop so people drive around and around to to find their camp site
