What Guests Are Saying
Flat Rock Campground in Island Park offers a clean, well-maintained environment with a friendly camp host who is dedicated to keeping the area organized and safe. Many campers appreciate the beautiful, shaded sites and proximity to outdoor activities, including access to the Henry’s Fork and Yellowstone National Park. However, some visitors have expressed disappointment regarding the rudeness of the camp host and issues with cleanliness, such as overflowing garbage and bathroom conditions. Overall, it remains a popular choice for its location and amenities, despite some concerns.

We love this campground and go there every year and sometimes twice. This year we are going again. I was very disappointed. The garbage was full and not cleared for the time we were there - Mon - Wed.
The campground hostess was not pleasant. In fact, I thought she was very rude to us a number of times. My husband approached her about paying for the extra car we had and before he could say anything she flew into him about not having extra vehicles, which we knew, and were happy to pay for. We had my mother [87 yrs] so took our truck to pull the camper and a car to travel around in to accommodate her. That was not a good start.
She brought us the info on bears and I explained that we were aware of the rules, as we had camped there every year. I said we would not leave anything in the tent or out from meals. Her comment - well you better not.
On leaving, I went to ask her about the garbage again so we could dump before we left and she said - can't you see - it is still locked. We had thought we had heard the dump being emptied and I mentioned that and she bit back at me again.
Before pulling off, I suggested she try being polite and pleasant to people using the park. As I pulled off, she shouted something else to me.
I was very disappointed - and then realized I had to go back in September!!!!
We have never had a rude camp host like this in any of the campgrounds. They are usually pleasant and helpful. I am sorry that I have to write this negative review - and as I said - I'm not looking forward to going back.

Our experience was made special through the suburb campground host, Annie. Her conscientiousness and care for people is exceptional.

Great location for shade and close to the river for cooling off in the summer. Lot's of activities all around. Close proximity to Yellowstone National Park was a key factor for our group. Go early in the morning for the busy season or you have to wait in line just to get into the park.
Camp has a fair amount of road noise due to close proximity of the highway, but very tolerable.

The facilities were great and the campsite was clean. The one reason that I will never camp there anymore is your camp host was mean. Very rude. Every time I had an interaction with her and accusing when I had questions. I wasn’t the only one that had this experience. Everyone that was in our camp party had the same exact experience with this woman. If camp host were changed, I would consider going back, but until that woman is removed I will not be going back to that campsite.

We had a great time. The campground Hostess was ever-present (which is a good thing) and the campground was clean and beautiful. We saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed the serene beauty of the area. Thank you!

The campground host does a outstanding job of taking care of the campground as well as keeping track of the visitors. Clone her and put her is all the campgrounds
