Bring a large container for water, as there are only a couple of pumps, so you'll want to drive to them. Also, the toilets are a bit of a walk, so plan for that. Floatation devices for the lake are a good idea.

The campsite and facilities were clean and we had a group site that had a lot of shade and places for the kids to play. Plenty of horse flies and mosquitoes in the evenings so bring bug spray! The lake is beautiful and warm enough to swim, with a lot of wild flowers and huckleberries surrounding it. If you follow the road to the turn around there is a trail that leads to some nice sandy areas (it’s pretty muddy near the boat launch). I’ve gone twice this year and both times lots of shooting can be heard. The first time it was outside of the campsite with gunfire and M-80s until 11pm. This last time it was the campsite next to us getting drunk and firing live rounds only 20 feet from us. The camp hosts were great and took care of the situation with some risk to their personal safety. Gunfire on the campground is probably not that common of a situation but the surrounding are gunfire is pretty common talking to the hosts and sound travels far distances in the forest. If you don’t want to hear it, recommend going to a different campground.

Nice campground, clean restrooms but not stocked for 3 days. Quiet, room between sites. Dirt road into campsite is pretty rough in places but lake is nice and happy with our stay
