Host was excellent and very helpful as I needed to find a spot for five nights before my regular reservation due to a wildfire evacuation at home. In my opinion lower Luby is the best National Forest campground on Priest Lake.

We love Luby Bay!! My husband’s family has been coming here for family reunions every year for 50 years! It always feels like a slice of heaven to be in the forest and be with family and to play at the beach.

We will be back. Such a great spot. My kids loved the beach area!! So close to everything priest lake has to offer. Loved that the kids could ride bikes. Was quiet at night. Everyone was respectful of noise .

We have camped at Luby Bay for 40 years. We love the beach, the spacious sites in the middle loop, the lakeshore trail and access to Hills Resort. We are terribly disappointed in the condition of tables and restrooms. The tables are rotting and the restrooms are rusting away. We noticed a lot of little pieces of garbage throughout the campground. Also, there was a huge group in one of the pull-through sites with two RVs, 3 cars and probably 5 or 6 tents. Too much.

The camp hosts were very attentive, we went under a fire watch and they made sure everyone was safe. Other than that, staff was very hands off, the camp sites are well forested and spaced well, and the lake was a short hike away from the upper loop. Absolutely a well balanced experience of solitude and group camp. I could tell the bathroom was cleaned regularly, and all people were respectful of quiet hours. Overall a very beautiful site I would recommend to anyone looking to get away.

I’ve never left a review before for a camp experience. I’ve been going there for 50+ years. Oh my!!! The camp host leaves much to be desired. You’d think you could find something else to do besides harass kids on Bicycles, Didn’t spend that kind of money in order to do that much interaction with someone we didn’t go there to see. How about clean the toilets!! I’ve had to take pictures of the restroom conditions which certainly were not cleaned on a daily basis, bring hip waders and your own decontamination equipment in order to use the restroom.

The surroundings are beautiful, however the beach had an incredible number of pine cones on it. At the price we paid for our site and not being able to use a pass for a discount, I think the beach should have been cleaned up.

to Newport, Washington. Take Highway 2 east to Priest River. At the junction of Highways 57 and 2, turn left at the stop light (there is only one in town) onto Highway 57. Go 28.5 mi to Lamb Creek Village. Turn right on Luby Bay Road. Go 1.5 mi to the stop sign. Turn left on W. Lake Shore Road and proceed 0.5 mi to the campground.

Luby Bay is accessible via Highway 2, which connects to I-90 via Highway 41 to the south. Highway 57 intersects with Highway 2 in Priest River, providing access to the campground.
