The camp hosts were very attentive, we went under a fire watch and they made sure everyone was safe. Other than that, staff was very hands off, the camp sites are well forested and spaced well, and the lake was a short hike away from the upper loop. Absolutely a well balanced experience of solitude and group camp. I could tell the bathroom was cleaned regularly, and all people were respectful of quiet hours. Overall a very beautiful site I would recommend to anyone looking to get away.

We have camped at Luby Bay for 40 years. We love the beach, the spacious sites in the middle loop, the lakeshore trail and access to Hills Resort. We are terribly disappointed in the condition of tables and restrooms. The tables are rotting and the restrooms are rusting away. We noticed a lot of little pieces of garbage throughout the campground. Also, there was a huge group in one of the pull-through sites with two RVs, 3 cars and probably 5 or 6 tents. Too much.

We will be back. Such a great spot. My kids loved the beach area!! So close to everything priest lake has to offer. Loved that the kids could ride bikes. Was quiet at night. Everyone was respectful of noise .

We love Luby Bay!! My husband’s family has been coming here for family reunions every year for 50 years! It always feels like a slice of heaven to be in the forest and be with family and to play at the beach.

Host was excellent and very helpful as I needed to find a spot for five nights before my regular reservation due to a wildfire evacuation at home. In my opinion lower Luby is the best National Forest campground on Priest Lake.

The campsites in the upper loop of Luby Bay campground are very nice and spacious. We had a good time there. The bathrooms are substandard. We enjoy tent camping and do it a lot and as tent campers, need to use a restroom or use the woods. The bathroom had only one toilet, and the walls, door, floor area around the toilet were very run down. The sink area was also very spartan and in need of updating.
The other issue was the noise at night. Both nights we were there, there was a campsite near us that went on and on with very loud music, VERY bad, loud language, and such until almost 2am. Also, in a campsite just across from us, they had a generator that they ran until almost midnight. Now someone would say we should have notified the campground host to deal with this. I think the campground host should have made themselves aware of this and dealt with it.

Our family has camped at Luby Bay for 15+ years/Priest Lake for 37+ years, and this was by far one of our worst experiences because of the campground hosts. We completely respect campground rules and understand the host's responsibility to enforce them. Our issue was the inconsistent enforcement, rule embellishment, conflicting information, and the way we were treated. It started with being reprimanded over our generator while others weren't held to the same standard. We were repeatedly told certain rules were "Forest Service rules," but when we checked the website, we couldn't find those rules. When questioned, the response was essentially how they interpreted the rules. We were yelled at for walking the wrong direction, reprimanded for putting loose garbage in the garbage receptacle, and learned the host was talking negatively about us to multiple campers. They even blamed "the people down there in the motorhomes" when another camper reported their campsite had been gone through during the night. One night we took our kids to the beach to look for frogs. We rode from upper Luby down to the parking lot. Before we were able to park our bikes, the host came around the corner on her golf cart loudly whistling and yelling at us, frightening the kids, she told us no bikes on the beach(which they weren't) and the beach was closed at 10. She sat with her lights pointing at us until we left. Shortly afterward, my sister was told they could stay after 10 as long as they were quiet. She later sarcastically cheered for my sister-in-law because she was walking while my family rode our bikes. Enforcing rules is one thing. Singling out, Harassing, ridiculing, talking about, and inconsistently enforcing rules against campers is another. Lots more Issues but not enough room After decades at Priest Lake, we have never experienced this. Luby Bay has always been a special part of our family's summers, which makes this experience incredibly disappointing. I hope something changes.
