At this time of year, earlier June, we had the upper loop all to ourselves. The power was off for two days, but we had RVs. The lake was beautiful and cold! The camp hosts were the best! Beautiful peaceful stay.

When I made my reservation. there was not any sights available along the lower lake loop for the four day period we were to camp. So we choose to move our camp sight to a new sight across the road on day two. Over the course of our four days we stayed in Lubey bay campground. The lower loop area had never more than six cap sights occupied at any given time. Some of the best sights along the lake were never occupied during our visit. The camp host does not have the authority to fill the empty sights as they are paid for. If you rent a camp sight please have the courtesy of showing up or canceling so other people can use the cap sights. Thanks Steve

The camp host, Catherine, was a jewel. She is such a hard worker We had a heck of a storm with fallen trees and tons of debris. She was relentless in cleaning things up and expediting removal and repair. Beautiful place.

Nice clean campground. Most campsites are well spaced apart. Restrooms are ancient but they are clean. Only 1 stall available which on a busy weekend could be a problem. The campground hosts were very helpful since it is difficult these days to figure out registration/availability. I liked the old system with envelopes. If someone does not have a cell phone it is very difficult to navigate the system. Campsites go empty because it is hard to tell if they are available or not. We enjoyed our stay.

We arrived the next day after a supercell storm had rolled through. The lower loops camp host was a go getter and within a few days had all the pavement blown off. Unfortunately the weather for most of our stay wasn’t that great. I was able to get some good walks in and we enjoyed some bike riding and campfires.

Even though there had been storms the night before, the host worked very hard to make sure the grounds were acceptable for guests arriving.
We had a very relaxing time.
