I love Luby Bay campground and have been going there for years…however, the new management was absolutely ridiculous! Now controlled by
“Scenic ….” They warned us that because they allow what’s called “double bunking” you will now be charged an additional full nights fee if you have a second vehicle together with a tent or another sleeping unit… wait what? My conversation did not go well as I explained that they are my children and we still are under the 8 person limit. We managed this time to just pay the extra vehicle charge because this NEW info has not been published on the website yet apparently. If you own a boat… beware - anchor front and back and soon out beyond the swim area and “risk swamping” your boat I was told. I told her that doesn’t sound very welcoming. Oh and, be sure to gift your left over wood to your neighbor or else they will pick it up and “turn it in”… I mean “sell it”. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!!

Bathrooms at Upper Luby need updating. Regulations for dogs on the beach need to be clarified. Otherwise this is a delightful place to stay.

From I-90, east or west, turn at Post Falls, Idaho on Highway 41 going north
to Newport, Washington. Take Highway 2 east to Priest River. At the junction of Highways 57 and 2, turn left at the stop light (there is only one in town) onto Highway 57...

Go 28.5 mi to Lamb Creek Village. Turn right on Luby Bay Road. Go 1.5 mi to the stop sign. Turn left on W. Lake Shore Road and proceed 0.5 mi to the campground.
