Egin Lakes Campground offers a beautiful and clean environment with exceptional camp hosts, making it a favorite for many visitors. The location is convenient for accessing the nearby dunes and the facilities, including clean restrooms, are well-maintained. While some visitors noted tight campsite sizes and issues with the reservation system, overall experiences highlight the campground as a great spot for outdoor recreation and family fun.

I have been coming to Egin Lake campground for about 8 years every summer to play in the St Anothny sand dunes and in the past the campground was always very clean, taken care of and the camp host was very personable. I just returned from an 8-day stay in this campground and not once during the stay were the bathrooms cleaned, I have never seen them so bad and disgusting in all my years staying in this campground. The old camp host always made sure the bathrooms were cleaned and stocked at least once a day, the RV sites were cleaned up and gravel leveled out prior to a new camper coming in and none of this was being done with the new camp host and her husband. They were also not very personable and are not following the camp site rules themselves, I didn’t even see them until I had been there 4 days and then when I did the woman host was very pushy/arrogant going over all the camp site rules ( which I agree with all the rules) and that we better follow them especially when it come to the 5 MPH speed limit and dogs on a leash, then over the rest of the trip I see her and her husband walking their dogs around camp with no leash on one of her dogs multiple times, her husband (Cowboy is what he called himself) speeding though camp in their yellow Camaro multiple times during my 8 day stay. I will continue to come to Egin to camp for the access to the sand dunes, but it is sad how the campground is being taken care of now. The camp hosts kept talking about how they wanted to come back next year and be the host, but what I have seen and talked to others I hope BLM will look at getting a different host in there next year or hold this host A LOT accountable to do their job as camp host and maintaining the campground.
Thank you.

This location, if you are one who enjoys dune riding in a sand rail, side by side, or an ATV, is likely the best in North America. The camp sites are spacious. Most sites include 50Amp, 30Amp, and 120 volt electrical service. Good drinking water is nearby but be prepared with plenty of hoses to reach the spigot. Large fire rings and a covered gazebo with tables are includes as well. There is a concession on site, "The Pit Stop" , which carries some repair parts, ice cream, T-shirts, and various camper supplies. Nice people! All in all, the infrastructure is great and the dunes are awesome.
AT&T cell service and data service is very good, around 30Mbps download speed for data.
