This is a really nice campground with lots of shade and trees. We enjoyed our time there, including kayaking on the reservoir. The only downside to the campground is that the sites are very difficult for trailers to get into. There are very few sites for long trailers, and even for short trailers, backing in is tricky because of all the big boulders in the way.

There are a number of reviews that discussed mosquito issues at this site. There is a lot of standing water, particularly behind sites 9-12, where I can see this being a major issue — but, not this early in the year. We had no insect issues at all. The very pleasant camp host noted that this is a justified and frequent complaint later in the season.

We camped in a 22’ (hitch to bumper) travel trailer. The site was level side to side with an easy to overcome downward slope from front to back. I have two minor recommendations about our specific site (#10). First, I believe that the fire ring was a tad close to the trailer pad and should be moved. It worked, however, as the light wind shifted, our trailer smoke detector was successfully operationally tested. Secondly, I recommend that what the site can accommodate be revisited. I can’t see a 55’ rig fitting in this particular site. We are 42’ nose to tail from the front of the truck to the back of the trailer bumper and with the parking stops well under the trailer, we were still beyond the bounds of the driveway.

Our negatives were minor. The positives far outweighed the negatives. We were there during the week and enjoyed a mostly empty campground. The grounds were quiet, clean, and well maintained. We will definitely stay there again.
