Only one concern. I dont understand why the Corps doesn't contract some to cut down all the dead trees in the campgrounds and ESPECIALLY the dead limbs above the camper pads just waiting for a rain to get them wet and heavy and a good wind with it to break them off on top of someones camper. I camped at Dam West on Carlyle Lake over Memorial day weekend and was talking to one of the campers who said a limb DID fall on one of the camper trailers during the Friday storm. And dont you people understand that by not cutting out the dead trees, you are allowing the Emerald Ash Borers, or whatever is killing the trees to spread to the healthy trees. Or didnt they teach that at University of Illinois forestry program?

Great place to camp. Trails and wineries not to far away. Lots of fishing opportunities. Clean showers and restrooms.

We enjoyed the overall experience. The bike trails and beach at another campground were very nice. However, at our campsite, the concrete picnic tables are not to our liking. Our campsite was 52 and the concrete picnic table was far away from our site. In my opinion the concrete picnic table should be replaced with a wood movable table that could be placed under an rv awning or placed anywhere to someone’s liking. Also there wasn’t firewood available to buy so we had to go find it elsewhere. Just my opinion but get rid of the concrete tables.

Great place to camp..The entire Rend Lake is a beautiful area..High grass was a problem but the lawn service is starting to catch up..The only real complaint is barking dogs..A little bark here and there is expected but some people will let them bark constantly
for hours..
