I use The ACE parks as a go to anytime i can, however it has become an issue with canines being off leash and challenging mine (who is a big baby, but an 80lb male Doberman) who is very sociable with other dogs, children and other campers... While walking mine down the center of the parks road I noticed a pit bull being very aggressive and off leash in the owner's campsite, before i could turn around and get away this dog, bolted out of his campsite and charged now mine is becoming protective of me and very agitated, not aggressive with this pit bull. I am a 68-year-old male with a disability, and in the fiascoes that followed. My dog pulled me off balance and down i go, unbale to stand back up. all the time trying to restrain my dog. The pit bull's owner came to retrieve their dog, all the time I'm yelling i cannot hold mine back, get yours out of here now. She looked me laying on the ground, grabbed the Pitbull , snarled at me and left. Fortunately, my dog realized i was in distress and stopped pulling and came to my side. Thank goodness another camper saw what happened, came over and helped me to my feet. Nice park, but its not the only one i have had issue with loose dogs. It is getting so i don't like to walk my dog ( always on a 6 foot leash) at any Ace park. I expect to be safe while I'm visiting and this goes as well for my canine. Zero tolerance for unleashed canines. I did file complaints and awaiting Reponses, although I have yet to hear any. One bad pet owner and one aggressive canine ruined my entire stay not to mention a torn pair of jeans and skinned knee. Not cool...

Everything was exceptional, except for having to book everything online. It would be nice to have first come first serve sites so people that do not have access to the internet would be able to go camping. It’s expensive to get everything ready and pull your camper out just to find out there’s no sites that are first come first serve

I was told that their phones were not working since last year. On their website I booked a site for Thursday night only; in hope of getting another site the was FF (first come, first serve). They did not update their website and all FF was already reserved. They only said I’m sorry! I was very disappointed with their website and my experience with them. I drove many miles to get their with my dog to enjoy my weekend experience of camping and I’m sorry just don’t pay for my time and expenses because they neglected to update their website and not repair their telephone system.

Amazing campground! Nice gate tenants, well kept bathroom and shower house, plenty of things to do and see nearby. With in 20min of Vandalia, Centralia and Carlyle. Nice beach, excellent place to kayak. Several small playgrounds for kids. On site coin laundry available. Small shop less than 1 mile from camp with ice and drinks. 10/10 recommend! You wount be disappointed!
