It was a beautiful campground with large level sights. We met a few friendly fellow campers and it was a very pleasant stay.

Site 41 was perfect! Great view of the lake. Only downside...a mouse got in my trailer! Able to catch it, but was so surprised!

We enjoyed our stay at dam west. The park is so convenient to grocery stores and restaurants. We like the convenience this park gives us to visiting with family and friends. Our site was paved had plenty of room for our camper and truck. We have made so many friends in this campground, it like coming home to us.

The hosts start your stay with a friendly check in. We have camped at almost every full hook up lot they have. The campground is always well maintained and clean. It's close to Carlyle, Il and that make shopping for last minute items easy. We always take a run into Breeze Il for Dairy King, a family run custard shop with an extensive sandwich and treat menu. The only bad part about camping at Dam West is the last day. You always wish the trip was longer. We spring, summer, and fall camp at Dam West.

Wendy and Eric Danford are the most friendly and helpful campground hosts we’ve ever met! The park is super clean and what a plus getting your fire pit cleaned out.

Camp ground was fantastic, very enjoyable. Only problem was having to leave after three days because the spot was reserved for the next day. Had a great time in that short time. It is all good. I must learn the reserving process better. Would like to camp twice monthly from Wednesday thru Sunday until my spouse retires completely. Then move to a full week at a time, later down the road.
