This is the first time we camped at a park where no one was on the gate when we came in and after finding a site we were not permitted to set up until we had registered. We arrived about 3pm. We had no internet to use and only our cell phones which we were unable to use. We called the phone number listed and after about 20 minutes waiting were disconnected. We called a second time and after another 20 minutes a polite gentleman answered the phone and we were able to make our reservation. We were able to hook up our electric so we could run our air, but since the fee both did not open until 5 ( we have a motorhome) I had to walk to the booth (with difficulty I am 77)to pick up our registration tags. I am going to have to take my grandkids with me to get a site registered from now on I guess. I think you should talk to the state parks and see how they do it. Great campground. The only bad part is the new bathroom building by us, the outside lights at night were way to bright for any star gazing if your site was near there and also the automatic exhaust fans sounded like small jet engines. Whenever someone entered they would turn on.

Our site was good. I wish the Corp would save one area at Coon Creek and Lithia Springs, to a first come first serve. Your locals are missing out of camping at a Corp of Engineers campground and having to camp elsewhere. Several people do not know when they get a weekend off until the last minute and are unable to camp because all week-ends are taken and are unable to camp during the week.

needs more restrooms. shower is combined in restroom and no way to use it when someone takes shower. Fish cleaning station not in operation. Lots could use some small gravel on them the large rocks are not very friendly on carpets or feet. Closed all summer only improvements was new restroom shower combinations which cut back on number of toilets that can be used. When full hard to find empty restroom when needed.

Great to have access again after the campground renovation work. The new bathroom/showers are fantastic. As always the campground is one of our favorite places to stay and we always find the staff friendly and helpful.

From Shelbyville, Illinois: Go 4.5 miles north of Shelbyville on State Route 128 to County Road 1750 N. Turn right (east) and drive 0.9 miles to County Road 1900 E. Make a left (north) and go 0.35 mile to County Road 1785 N. Turn right (east) and drive 1.75 miles to County Road 2075 E. Turn right (south) and go 1.7 miles to the facility.
The campground is accessible via State Route 128, which connects to nearby roads including County Roads. There are no interstates or major highways within 25 miles of the location.

- Attention – Customers who do not arrive at the campground by on the day after scheduled arrival date will be No Showed. Please Review the R1S No Show policy for complete details.
- Must have a reservation prior to setting up on site.
- Must check-in at fee booth during normal operation hours.
- No alcohol permitted in beach area.
- Tent camping is always permitted, but not recommended for some sites
- One RV and three tents or four tents per site
- Two RVs and six tents, or eight tents for double sites
- The banks are steep and it may be difficult to get to the water from many sites
- No outside firewood allowed; obtain or purchase firewood at or near your camping destination and burn it on-site; firewood can carry invasive insects and diseases that destroy forests; learn more
