What Guests Are Saying
Coon Creek offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience with clean facilities, well-maintained campgrounds, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the picturesque views of Lake Shelbyville and the quiet atmosphere, making it a favorite for families and nature lovers. However, some concerns were raised about the lack of fish cleaning stations, narrow parking spaces, and the need for improved arrival hours for campers without reservations.

The whole campground was really nice, clean facilities, and the campsite hosts were very nice and helpful. Will come back over and over again.

We had one little incident. A tree fell on our site during all of the rain. However, I called and a ranger was there within 30 minutes. The tree was taken care the same afternoon. Thank you.

I was a little disappointed with the site we were at, usually when we stay at a Corp of engineers camp ground the sites are usually very clean and well groomed, this time not so much, I was very disappointed with the shower house we were closest to, no ventilation, the door didnt lock in the only one that had a light. With the current covid epidemic I would have expected the whiff of bleach at the very least in the bathrooms and shower houses, at the very least very early in the morning a light smell of a pine cleaner was what we got. Not a great stay this time

Nice place to stay. I wish more sites were available to reserve instead of first come first serve. Coon creek is a 2 hour drive for us and if all reserved sites are booked, we risk showing up and having all the first come first serve being occupied. Camp store is nice. It offered items we forgot to pack and the ice cream is a bonus

Sight was clean and above expectations. People working at the campground could not have been more helpful or pleasant. Certainly will be back.

We had a full hookup spot and can't believe how reasonable it was to camp there. Spot was easy to get in and out of and had plenty of room for privacy between campers. Some camp grounds squeeze as many spots as they can and you are too close to the next camper. Even though we did not need to use the bathroom and shower it was centrally located at the camp area. Also if we had wanted a tent at our spot there was still plenty of room to do so next to our camper. Great to have the guard check-in station so we didn't even have to get out of the truck to do so. Will definitely camp there again.
