Site 125. Shaded and spacious. We have Verizon cell service and we only got 1 or 2 bars at this site. Neighbors were friendly.

Forrest Bo Woods is a clean, well-manicured campground. We live in Mattoon and always camp at Bo Woods. It's the best, by far. The only problem, at this time, is the reservation system now in place. There are no sites you can just drive in the park and camp in without a reservation. I camped last week, and for the most part, the campground was sparsely populated, that is, until the weekend came around. The reservation system makes the campground appear online to have very few available sites when attempting to plan a trip, but that's not how the actual campground looks when you're there. It has been brought to my attention by fellow campers that some people reserve a site every month for two weeks at a time. If they change their mind about camping those two weeks, they just cancel. Do those cancelled reservations then appear as available sites on recreation.gov? I cannot figure out how the campground can look so bare, but reserving a site for maybe 5-7 days appears almost impossible, while the campground has only a handful of actual campers. Thank you for a helpful response to my questions!

A very nice park and the campground hostess was very pleasant. The sites aren’t completely flat so we had to work at it but they are large and mostly flat. Some sites are in the trees but still easy to get into with a larger camper. Sullivan is a nice town and you are very close to Arthur.
