This was our first time (tent camping) with our kids. My wife and I both grew up camping. We wanted our kids to share in that experience. We enjoyed it so much that we have stayed here twice so far this year. The kids have been asking when we are going back. The staff were very polite and super helpful. The grounds are well maintained. The bathrooms were clean. It’s right next to Shelbyville. We walked around and picked our favorite camping spots that we will choose from now on. We plan to make this our regular camping getaway! I highly recommend this place!

I didnt like thatthe park rangers called the sheriff on me to knock on my door at 1am. I never even spoke to the park ranger the night the sheriff came to my campsite. Was odd. At site 49.i have camped many places never run into this type situation.

Lake Shelbyville is large and if you want to be near the historic district this is a good location. The park is very clean and well organized. There is a boat dock in this location and if you want to rent a boat, a marina about 20 minutes away in Lithia Springs. Don't miss the dam and the visitor's center. Some site have full hook ups and are on the main road as you enter the campground in a line and some what closer together than the sites with electric only. If you want to tent camp the sites are gravel and flat and the views are amazing. We are tucked away on RV site 11 and it is like being in the forest.

It was nice to feel like things were back to normal! All of the other campers were very pleasant. It was very quiet at night.
We could here the fireworks on Saturday night and regret that we didn't walk down to see them. Looking forward to coming
back next year.
