The site more than met our expectations. The park was clean and mowed. We met the "bathroom cleaner". She was so nice and kept asking if we found the bathroom and shower room clean and to our expectations. Yes we did!!!! Definitely will camp here again!

Opossum Creek campground has been closed. Very upset, this is the best campground on Lake Shelbyville. This closure will hurt the economy of the area, and they are going to loose the regulars that stay at this campground every summer. Once these returning customers find a new place to go, they will not be back, even if the campground reopens.
Very bad deal for the community, and the loyal possum creekers!

Campground had excellent facilities. Very clean grounds and restrooms. Showers were great. Very quiet at night. Lake access was good.

Our family loves Opossum Creek! The campground is updated, clean & easy to get to. Lake Shelbyville offers amazing water related activities. The surrounding communities have opportunities that you won’t find anyplace else. Sullivan is close by & offers the Little Theater on the Square, a live performance theater. Shelbyville has Cross Country trails that my runners love to hate. Shelbyville Dam is a fun place to visit. The Roxy Theater in Shelbyville shows new movies at a family friendly price. Opossum Creek is a short 45 minute drive from the heart of Illinois Amish Country, Arthur. Trust me, you will not be disappointed by booking a reservation at Opossum Creek.
