What Guests Are Saying
Thomson Causeway is praised for its beautiful riverside camping, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. Campers appreciate the spacious concrete pads, proximity to nature, and stunning sunsets over the Mississippi River. While some concerns were raised about noise from barking dogs and a less-than-friendly host, the overall experience is highly positive, with many planning to return.

The camp site was fine. The water was disappointing, the lily pads were so bad it was hard to enjoy the water. The only problem I had getting to my site was due to the sign showing where our group of sites were.

Site 47 is a level site with a good view of the backwater area. Highlight was sights and sounds of marsh birds. Sept is hunting season which did not set well with one of our dogs. Shots could be heard each morning and evening. The site also has a hickory tree that supplied a squirrel with large nut shells that were dropped on top of our camper and truck at dusk and dawn. Rest for us did not come easy that weekend. Lol! That’s part of camping. Our last night and day a different site came open and we were blessed with the best view this facility had to offer looking westward across the beautiful Mississippi River. It made the whole trip worthwhile. I give this facility two thumbs up but being a major River you’ll get different experiences and views throughout the year. The staff was great!
