Great, mostly flat site and easy to level your rig. That's not the case with many of the sites here. There are an inordinate amount of negative sloped sites (sloping away from the campground road toward the back of the site). There are some that I would consider unusable for that reason. Look for the notes made about the grade percentage of slope and also check reviews where most of us will let you know!

Gun Creek is a beautiful place to camp at Rend Lake, IL.
We enjoy fall camping so it's the perfect place to go in November.

We camped at site 083 on the last 5 days of the season. The park was almost empty, but all facilities were available and the park was clean and fully staffed. Our site was on the lake front, with a beautiful view of the sunsets but very windy when the was wind from the west.

Camped twice in November 2024. Camp is well maintained and very clean. Most sites are quite open, but spacious. Many sites have significant slope - especially those near the lake. Excellent value.

Site #30 nice site ,enjoyed 3 days fair to good weather enjoyed 3 of the four days sunny mild temperatures till the last day turned cold all in all great time will return next year

Campsite #79 was awesome! Beautiful grove of taller trees between you and the lake with nothing in-between. The campgrounds were clean, maintained, and very pleasant. I will be back sometime for sure!
