Beautiful campground, nice facilities. Wish we could have stayed longer.

I accidentally booked an RV site for a tent, which was pretty rough setting a tent up, but that was my mistake. Our issues were mainly with the fact that there was no grass or any space at all for the kids to play. It was all just dirt mixed with a very small amount of gravel. We were also sent on a wild goose chase looking for a park pass. We were told to go to the marathon across from the park and they only had the annual passes. The other places we were sent to had no idea what we were talking about. We were finally able to find one at the visitors center. We also saw a couple employees several times before we bought fire wood at a local gas station and after they saw we bought wood elsewhere they told us we could’ve gotten it from them for a lot cheaper. This was my first time camping solo with my kids, so it’s just growing pains. For future reference though these things may be helpful for other first time campers. Overall we had a good trip. The restrooms and shower rooms were great. The rangers were nice. It was extremely quiet and peaceful and we felt very safe. We won’t camp here again because of the dirt and lack of grass, but if that doesn’t bother you then it’s a great place to be!

The campground was very clean and peaceful, even though it was full; the bathroom and wash facilities were excellent! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

Lovely campground with well-spaced sites and clean bath house. Near (but not inside) Indiana Dunes National Park.

The Mather Loop is spacious and woodsy. No problems with camping. People in the park were respectful of guidelines. There is road noise because of proximity to paved roads and people who enjoy loud cars.

nice sized shaded lots. Bathrooms were clean.
Lots of road and train noise. It’s hard to get to the lake (heavy traffic).

Nice and quiet campground. My only complaint is that a few of the park employees tell you not to park on the grass at all, but the drive for the site is not long enough for the rv and your vehicle.

excellent campground. Seems we were there before the busy season started so it was minimally staffed and very quiet. Really enjoyed the stay.

Location was great. Facilities were nice. Plenty of shade. Not on the beach, so there was not sand everywhere. Just a few minutes to several of the beaches.
