Very level sites. Wish the web site provided better maps of the campsites

We went in early April, so the campground was fairly empty. It was a rainy day. The campground is clean. There is a nearby gas station and store where you can get food, snacks, firewood, beer, there is also a restaurant near the entrance Of the campground. The bathrooms were warm and clean. The showers were decent. Good pressure. They are lit up all night long. Otherwise there are no lights in the Campground. Hours, there are no electrical outlets. You are between an interstate highway and a fairly busy train track that blows its whistle frequently. Keep that in mind. This is not the serene wilderness, quiet solitude.

Nice campsite, heated clean bathrooms. Quiet and peaceful campground besides the sounds of the train. Overall, great campground and centrally located to hikes in Indiana Dunes State and National Parks.

Recreation.gov does not work as a mechanism to make reservations and eliminate workers. I arrived with a tent on top of my car and with a reservation made for a tent site which happened to be a walk in. Luckily there were other sites available. I want to see the different sites and choose who I’m camping next to. Obviously whoever set this system up has never camped.

Received a very warm welcome when I checked in. Spot was perfect and loved all the trees around the site. Would definitely stay here again!
