Not well taken care of. Low limbs in campsites and along roadways. Weeds and small trees growing in gravel areas at campsites. Needs more attention before it becomes a place nobody wants to go to. Campground was pretty much empty as it is. Trails are overgrown. Needs more effort taken. One couple is all that is on site as camp host. One of them has to be at the gate. This is a 24/7 campground one elderly couple to try and tend to operations is a bit ridiculous.

Site was clean and great view of the stars from the tent on a clear night. Pit toilets with hand sanitizer inside, and water outside. Bathrooms do not have any lights, so bring your own headlamp/flashlight if going when dark. I came in late and left early on a motorcycle, so I had to go through/around some cones at the entrance as the park had been closed to non-campers at that point already. Another quality NPS site for me.

Why do you need to pay $8 for a reservation? Another charge for electricity? Women working that day was rude, she basically interrogated us when we got to our site. I booked online but she needed to look through my stuff. Poor customer service.

Private camping spots and convenient bathroom access. Gorgeous trees and scenery. We were only there for a night on our way to the Great Smoky Mountains, but it was a welcome stop!!

Getting There
From St. Croix, Indiana, travel south on State Route 37 about 5 mi to the Tipsaw Lake sign. Turn right and continue about 3 mi to the campground. Tipsaw Lake is only 3 mi from Interstate 64.

Tipsaw Lake is approximately 3 miles from Interstate 64, accessible via State Route 37.
Policies & Rules
General
- First-come, first-served sites may be available
- $8 fee will be charged to vehicles using the day use area
- Only electric motors are allowed on the lake
- Each campsite fee includes a camping unit (tent,camper) & one vehicle (single sites) and two vehicles (double sites). There is a $8.00 charge per day for the second vehicle, and $8.00 charge per day for any additional vehicle (must be paid at time of check-in). Maximum two vehicles per single site, and four vehicles per double site. There is a surcharge for the site with electric and water.

- Don't move firewood: To limit the spread of invasive tree-killing pests, firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Some states have quarantines and may confiscate your firewood.
