What Guests Are Saying
Tipsaw Lake offers a peaceful and relaxing camping experience with well-maintained facilities, clean bathrooms, and friendly hosts who ensure a pleasant stay. Visitors appreciate the spacious, wooded sites and beautiful hiking trails, making it a great destination for nature lovers. Although there are some issues with hot water in showers and the absence of a dump station, the overall atmosphere and cleanliness of the campground make it a hidden gem for camping enthusiasts.

Dogwood 34 is a great spot with a few caveats. The spur has a slight incline before leveling off so backing into the spot is a little "blind" for your back up camera until it levels out. The site is right next to the trail for beach access to the lake so be comfortable with people occasionally walking next to your site. It's location "around the bend" and just past the top of the hill on Dogwood Loop means cars at night shine their headlights directly into your campsite. A momentary annoyance to be sure. The site slopes down quite a bit from the parking spur but is mostly level once you get there. Nice not to have neighbors on the one side. My only concern would be if it rains as the water is going to flow straight across the site. Other than that, a highly recommended spot.

Great secluded feel to this place with tons to do in the area Camp hosts Bobby and Janet are wonderful. They keep the place clean and we'll organized and are ready to assist you with answering any questions. They really do go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

Incurred an additional cost at the gate of $8.00 for a second vehicle. Reservation site (recreation.gov) indicates that two (2) vehicles are allowed per site. No mention of the additional cost for the 2nd vehicle. They inform you at the gate, just are you're trying to check in. Showers had no hot water, but the sinks did. Sewage Dumpsite is 2.5 miles from the campground. Host and Hostess were very nice and helpful with our issue at the campsite.
**NOTE** While walking our dog around the loop our dog was attacked by a pitbull at campsite 10. The pitbull was tethered to a chain on a line hung between two trees, the pitbull charged us just as were walking by, breaking (snapping) its collar, freeing the dog. Our dog sustained several lacerations and puncture wounds that required medical treatment at an Animal Emergency room 25 miles away. The Host and Hostess assisted us in getting the help needed as well as contacting the local authorities.

Great facilities, friendly hosts. And Dogwood 30 is one of the best on the loop.

The site we had reserved. Had electrical issues. They were able to find us another open spot for our stay, which we were very grateful for.

A smaller, overlooked lake and campground, but it’s definitely one to go to for families. Clean, newer restrooms and shower rooms at the campground were a nice surprise.

Staff was very rude put our fire out when walked to the shower house. Got in truck looking for a parking tag which we had. The lady screamed numerous times at us and we did not do a thing wrong. Once you have a target on your back these mall cops have nothing better to do then try to find things you did that they don’t like. These hosts need taken out of the parks system very disappointed and will not be returning. Overall though park is very clean and well kept.
