What Guests Are Saying
Tipsaw Lake campground is a beautiful and peaceful destination with friendly and helpful camp hosts, Bobby and Janet, who enhance the camping experience. The campground features lovely wooded sites, clean restrooms, and well-maintained hiking trails, making it ideal for relaxation and nature activities. While there are some concerns about the lack of hot water in showers and the absence of a dump station, the overall experience is enjoyable, and many visitors express a desire to return.

Well-placed campsite, showers and bathroom were very clean. Only negative was the firewood we bought onsite was wet and moldy.

We had a great time hiking, biking and kayaking. The hosts and grounds staff were very attentive and helpful, especially John Lee!

It's a nice facility, hosts very friendly, everything very clean. It's a shame there's no campsites on the lake, but I suppose they'd be subject to flooding.
The only issue we had is that *so many* of the sites were double sites and many of the available sites were sloped enough that we'd be unable to level our van. This is not a problem we've had before, and we did find one we could manage, but mostly because there were a lot available.

Catbrier 1 RV site needs tree trimming as do a lot of other sites. Could not extend awning because of tree branches. Branches also hit top of RV. Other sites in the Catbrier loop have branches in the way of RVs. I brought issue to host ( a very nice person ) and was told that they could not trim trees because it's a national forest. If thats the case then eventually Tipsaw Recreation Area won't have any useable RV camp sites. Sites in Catbrier loop hard to determine where each site is. Won't be back.
