About Hardin Ridge

Hardin Ridge is a 1,200-acre recreational complex located on the shores of Monroe Reservoir in Hooiser National Forest. The complex includes six shady campground loops, two picnic areas with shelters, and two rental cabins. The area offers something for everyone, with activities like camping, picnicking, boat launching, swimming, nature walks, and interpretive programs offered in a forested environment.

A lovely campground and site. The bathroom and shower were clean. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I only spent a night there. Lots of families having fun.

I was surprised of the terrain in the park. I had a water/electric site. It was quiet and peaceful. Easy access to surrounding area.

We have a favorite spot, but I'm not telling which one. :)
Even when there are a lot of campers present, it is very peaceful and beautiful. There aren't many stores nearby, so fill up on gas and double check that you packed everything you might need. You can get firewood and ice at the gate, though.
We've returned many times - even our tiny dog loves it! We can't wait for our next visit!

Felt completely safe as a solo camper. Bathroom and showers were clean and have hot water. That was a huge bonus. Beautiful and quiet beach! Absolutely amazing. Even found a goede at camp. Visited Blue Springs Cavern and had great conversation with the employees and my guide was amazing. Lunch at Apron Springs. The best chicken salad and potato salad ever. I love that area. Great trip.
