About Hardin Ridge

Hardin Ridge is a 1,200-acre recreational complex located on the shores of Monroe Reservoir in Hooiser National Forest. The complex includes six shady campground loops, two picnic areas with shelters, and two rental cabins. The area offers something for everyone, with activities like camping, picnicking, boat launching, swimming, nature walks, and interpretive programs offered in a forested environment.

This is a large site, very comfortable for a long stay. Difficult to level - camp side will need some blocks as will your steps.

Restrooms and showers are first class. Toilet paper is not sandpaper. Staff keep it maintained well.

The trails are great, including the interpretive trail. If you walk down to the lake, be ready for a brutal walk back up the road.

We love Hardin Ridge! It's far and away the best campground we've found in Indiana. It's peaceful, even when most sites are full, because it's so wooded and the sites are well spaced. The staff of volunteers are invariably friendly and fun to meet and talk with. Altogether, it's just a great place to camp.

Overall the campground is very clean and most sites are somewhat private. The facilities are also very clean and the hot water is a nice touch for the showers.

This is my favorite park in Indiana because it is well kept, has modern amenities and tends to be fairly quiet. The hosts have always been great, the restrooms have always been clean and the sites extremely well maintained. Staff is amazing!
