The campgrounds are always clean and well maintained. The staff, Karen, Charlie and his wife, Andrew are always helpful and friendly. The only issue I have is with the reservation process online. The eligible discounts seem to include every card except Gold Star Lifetime Military. Its excepted at the gate for the entry fee if you arrive w/out a reservation, but cannot be used in the reservation process. Could this be looked into please?

First time camping in my own, I absolutely loveddddddddd it! Monroe lake is so beautiful. The staff was wonderful and the campsite hosts ( Gary and his wife (I didn’t get her name)) were wonderful. I felt completely safe there as a woman. Great place to take your children. I loved seeing drivers respecting the speed limit as there are many children on their bikes and running around. Quiet time was respected as well. I do have to say though, since you have to put your tent on the gravel pad, I suggest bringing a hammer or mallet to drive the stakes in. Other than that, I had a wonderful time. I didn’t have many issues either bugs but there were quite a few horseflies that would hand around my car and occasionally fly past my face.

Sites are spacious and shaded. Close proximity to Lake Monroe beach (When not flooded). Very nice, wide boat ramp next to beach with a parking lot for boat trailers. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only complaint is showers only deliver hot water for a minute or 2. Restrooms are mostly clean.

We went mid-week in early August. It was mostly vacant. Electric worked as expected. Site was clean. The new bathrooms are fantastic! Most sites are heavily shaded - great during mid day sun / heat and DARK at night.
