Great large sites. Quiet atmosphere.

Clean, functional, nice. Well designed bathrooms and showers.

This was my first time camping at Hardin Ridge White Oak Loop 149. Upon arriving i no more than pulled into my site when I was approached by a female camp host who was parked across the road from me. I was informed my dogs were not going to work out with my camping stay. This host came across as hostile and after we had words I informed her she needed to seek a conservation officer so we could figure this out. I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes and she never returned. I ended up leaving a 3 day reserved stay. This host has no business dealing with the general public with her attitude let alone being a campground host. I will say this was the worst experience I ever delt with and I will never return to White Oak Loop again as long as she is the campground host. She definitely needs a class in hospitality and anger management! I hope she receives both before being allowed to continue her roll. For all you campers....i would seek any campground other than White Oak Loop.

We loved our campsite. It was very private and clean. The bathroom facilities were plentiful and clean. The campsite host was helpful. We love camping at Hardin Ridge and then driving to the hike to Patton Cave.

Purposefully laid out so you never feel crowded. Their facilities are always clean.

Peaceful, wooded/shaded lots. Ample space between campers. Clean restrooms and private showers.

I've been camping at Hardin Ridge Campground on and off for over 50 years, and it is still my favorite place to camp. The campsites are huge, private, and nestled in a beautiful forest on the southeast side of Bloomington, along Lake Monroe.
Because it's a U.S. Forest Service campground rather than a state park, it has a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere. The campground is exceptionally well maintained, the restrooms and shower facilities are always very clean, and the camp hosts are some of the friendliest and most helpful people you'll meet.
If you enjoy nature, Hardin Ridge is hard to beat. Wildlife is everywhere, and one of our favorite traditions is hunting for geodes—we've found dozens right within the campground over the years. There are plenty of hiking trails, including a scenic trail that leads to the amphitheater and all the way to the lake and beach. The amphitheater is a great feature, especially for families and evening programs.
For a day on the water, we rented a pontoon boat from Two Herons Marina at the nearby Cutright Boat Ramp, just across the causeway on State Road 446. It was a fantastic addition to our camping trip.
After five decades of camping here, I can honestly say Hardin Ridge has never lost its charm. If you're looking for spacious wooded campsites, beautiful scenery, abundant wildlife, and a peaceful, well-kept campground, this is the place. We look forward to coming back every year.

The camp site large and verry nice, right beside a pond. The grandkids enjoyed fishing in the pond. It was verry quiet especially since we were there over the 4th of July holiday.

They need to describe the camping lots better on the site. Our lot was next to impossible to get settled into with a tree smack in the middle of the lot. When we out maneuvered the tree, we couldn’t reach the electrical pole. Many lots are similar. I did like the space between the lots, and the scenery was great. Be aware many of the lots are on a fairly severe grade.
